About

The gap isn’t memory. It’s the handoff.

Personal assistants can already remember plans, preferences, documents and commitments — for one person. Families still repeat and forward the same context across separate accounts and products. FamRelay is our attempt to fix that, carefully.

The FamRelay story

It started with a flyer.

One parent receives an invitation — a christening, say — with the time, the venue, what to wear and a note about the reception. They upload it to their assistant, which now knows everything. Their partner’s assistant knows nothing.

The usual fix is to forward the flyer, retype the details, or hope the other person remembers. The heavier fix — one shared account, or syncing everything — collapses the privacy and ownership boundaries that make personal assistants personal.

We think the right behaviour isn’t “sync everything.” It’s “share this, with this person, for this purpose.”

Build the trust layer first

FamRelay is being built as a neutral permission and delivery layer between assistants. It stores only the packages people approve, routes them to the people they chose, and gives everyone a clear record of what moved. If people don’t trust a narrowly scoped intermediary, nothing else matters — so that’s where we’re starting.

Why a pilot, not a launch

We’d rather learn in the open than overclaim. The pilot tests whether sharing happens often enough to become a habit, whether recipients value context without feeling monitored, and which assistant connections matter first.

What we believe

  • Separate assistants, shared understanding. Nobody should have to switch AI providers to stay coordinated.
  • Share the fact, not the conversation. The smallest useful item moves; everything else stays private.
  • Say exactly what’s true. What’s shared, with whom, for how long — and what each connection can really do today.

About Cognary

FamRelay is a Cognary product.

Cognary is the company behind FamRelay, responsible for the service, the pilot and the commitments on this site. FamRelay has its own name and identity; Cognary stands behind it in the places that matter for trust — legal terms, company details and partnerships.
