FamRelay exists for controlled sharing, not broad collection. Every item is approved by you, encrypted on its own, delivered only to the people you choose, and recorded so you can always see exactly what moved.

Minimum necessary
Only the details you approve are transferred — the fact, never the conversation. Each part of FamRelay sees only what it needs to do its job.
Recipient acceptance
Nothing becomes part of someone’s assistant silently. Recipients see who shared an item and choose to accept it.
Control after sending
Correct, expire or revoke any item, just by asking your assistant. Changes reach every connected recipient.
Visible provenance
Every item shows its sender, source, timing and changes. No silent updates, ever.
Safe defaults
No whole-memory sync. Contact details, attachments and other sensitive categories start switched off and need an extra confirmation.

Follow one item — say, the time and place of a christening — from the moment you say “send it” to the moment you stop sharing it.

You approve it
Your assistant shows exactly which details, for whom, and for how long. Nothing is created until you confirm.

It’s sealed on its own
Each item is encrypted with its own unique key. That key is then locked separately for each person you approved — so access follows your consent exactly.

It travels safely
Everything moves over encrypted connections. Notifications only say “something is waiting” — they never carry your details.

Only they can open it
Each recipient’s assistant signs in with its own scoped permission and can only unlock items shared with that person.

It ends when you say
When a share expires or you revoke it, the recipient’s key is removed, future access stops, and connected assistants are told to delete it.
Plain truth about revoking: it stops all future access and removes the item from connected assistants, but no technology can make a person forget something they’ve already read, or delete a copy they made elsewhere. That’s why FamRelay helps you share only what’s needed in the first place.

What enters FamRelay, and when?
Only an item you approve, at the moment you approve it. Your conversations, your assistant’s memory and your other files never enter FamRelay.

Is my information encrypted?
Yes — in transit and at rest. Every item has its own encryption key, and that key is locked separately for each recipient you approve. Remove someone, and their key goes with them.

Who can see a shared item?
Only the people you chose, through the assistants they’ve connected. Each assistant has its own narrowly scoped permission, and you can disconnect an assistant at any time.

Retention
How long is my information kept?
Only as long as you decide. Every share has a lifespan you set; when it expires or you revoke it, it’s removed from active storage and deleted on a defined schedule.

Is my data sold or used to train AI?
No. We don’t sell your information, and shared items are never used to train AI models. The small set of infrastructure providers we rely on is listed in our privacy notice.

We investigate every report sent to security@famrelay.ai and tell affected people promptly and plainly — what happened, what it means for them, and what we’ve done about it.

Built for everyday coordination
FamRelay is made for the logistics of life — not its most sensitive records.
Events, pickups, travel windows, appointments and handoffs are what FamRelay does best. Some information belongs in specialised, regulated systems instead, so FamRelay isn’t designed for:
- Health or medical records
- Financial accounts or payment details
- Door codes, alarm codes or passwords
- Children’s sensitive records
